Dr. Adrienne Brundage

Ph.D and Diplomate of the ABFE

Dr. Adrienne Brundage, D-ABFE, is a board certified forensic entomologist that has served the community of friends and neighbors nationwide since 2012. Dr. Brundage is a board certified forensic entomologist and lecturer of Entomology and Forensics. She received her Ph.D. in Entomology from Texas A&M University, and as worked as a forensic entomologist across North America since 1999. She has consulted with local law enforcement agencies, the FBI, NCIS, ASPCA, and private entities on cases of abuse, neglect, and death. In addition to these consultations, Dr. Brundage teaches entomology and forensics at both Texas A&M University and University of Florida and has taught various entomological and forensic courses at San Jose State University, Baylor and Blinn College. She is also a prolific public speaker, giving talks and leading training seminars for all ages in Forensic Entomology across the country. Her current research involves the colonization of human remains by Dipteran species, and the interactions among larvae and bacteria. Finally, Dr. Brundage is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and works as a member of Wildlife Forensics Consensus Body, which is a subset of the Academy Standards Board. 

Dr. Jason H. Byrd

Dr. Jason Byrd is a Board-Certified Forensic Entomologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Entomology, who has dedicated his time and services to the field of Entomology. As the second person in the United States to be formally trained in Forensic Entomology, Dr. Byrd has shaped the field by serving as President of the American Board of Forensic Entomology, the North American Forensic Entomology Association, and the council of Forensic Science Educators. With over 44 publications and extensive courtroom applications, Dr. Byrd specializes in the education of law enforcement officials, medical examiners, coroners, attorneys, and other death investigators on the use and applicability of arthropods in legal investigations. 

Brandon H. Strauss Ph.D.(c)

Brandon H. Strauss is a doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University. They are a forensic entomologist and insect ecologist currently working with and learning from Dr. Brundage. He has lectured on veterinary entomology, medical entomology, ecology, and various forensic topics during his career. Brandon has also assisted in forensic entomology workshops for law enforcement and in casework. His current research investigates the connection between forensic entomology and forensic palynology through the use of blow flies and their role as pollinators.

He is also a science consultant and has regularly provided his services to authors, streaming platforms, actors, video game companies, and other interested parties. He is a regular at scifi/fantasy/comic conventions where he gives talks about entomology and forensic science in the media.

Private Consulting

The entomological team is available to collect and analyze insect evidence, review cases, investigate scenes, give expert witness testimony, and assist in other insect-related situations. Evidence collection kits available upon request.
